Cordelia Chase
18 March 2007 @ 08:31 am
Things had been kind of slow since they all left Angel Investigations, well no that wasn't entirely true now was it. They had actually been fired and told to leave by somebody they had trusted and considered a friend. Cordelia would never truly understand why he had pushed them out of his life. But now that he had she was determined never to come back into his life again, not even if he begged her. Her life was with Gunn and Wesley now, besides they were doing a pretty good job on their own with their new agency. Okay sure they hadn't had many clients, correction, they had no clients so far but she was sure that once people knew about them they would have people lining up at the door to see them. In the mean time they all tried not to die of boredom.

That morning it had pretty much been the same as any morning since they had opened the agency. Gunn was busy playing his game boy, Wesley was reading his books and Cordelia was glancing through the latest fashion magazines. Yep another exciting morning for the old Angel Investigations team.

As much as Cordelia hated to think it she was getting bored of looking at all the glamorous, beautiful clothes that she could never afford in her life time. With a sigh she closed the glossy magazine and glanced around the small office space. It wasn't much but it was theirs and that was all that mattered.

Glancing around the room she found herself looking at Wesley as he read his book. She was glad he had remained by her side and come with her when they started this agency. He was a true friend that she enjoyed having in her life. Wesley was different, special ...... huh ? did she just use the word special to describe Wes ? What was that all about ? She thought silently to herself as she found herself staring at the Englishman a little longer then necessary and quickly changed her attention to the coffee cup on the table as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

Cordelia was at it again, staring at Wes when ever he wasn't looking. The girl had it bad, Gunn just wished her and Wesley did something about it instead of pretending they were still 'just friends' and nothing more then that when it was clearly obvious to everybody but them that they felt something else towards one another.

Just as he went back to playing his game boy the front door opened and everybody looked up with anticipation only to find Virginia Bryce standing there. Immediately Cordelia wished it had been anybody else at their door instead of Wesley's current girlfriend. She was unsure why she disliked the young woman so much, she tried not to, tried to be civilized towards her but it was no use, she just hated her and that was that.

"Hey everybody, thought you might be hungry so I brought muffins and fresh coffee." Virginia said with a bright smile as she walked over to the desk with a large basket of muffins while also holding a tray of individual coffee's for each one of them.

Wesley didn't like coffee, he liked English tea, something Cordelia went out of her way to get for him and make him every morning. "Thanks Virginia, that's very sweet of you." Cordelia said through clenched teeth as she took the coffee from the red head and handed Gunn his coffee then placed Wesley's on his desk. The seer hoped that now Wesley's girlfriend had come to deliver this stuff she would leave and go away, far away from them all.

Cordelia couldn't understand what Wesley saw in Virginia, the only reason she had liked him when she first met him is because she thought he was a mysterious vampire named Angel. She believed that Wesley could do so much better then Virginia if he tried, he was an attractive man with a killer accent who could have anybody he desired. Okay with the weird again, why were these thoughts of Wesley constantly in her mind, since when did he become so important to her lately ?
